Wood chipper, hammer mill and rotary drum dryer are the main equipments in the raw materials pretreatment processing. Some raw materials like wood logs, branches and wood chip with large size are not meet the requirements of pelleting. Usually, the dimension of raw materials is smaller than 10mm. With a wood chipper, raw materials are chipped into small pieces. Then the hammer mill will crush small pieces into the powder. But biomass materials often are of high moisture content after hammer mill. Next, you need to adjust the moisture content (13%-15%)by the dryer. Otherwise, biomass material is difficult for pelleting in the ring die pellet mill.

The pelleting is the core of the whole biomass pellet production line. The pretreated biomass materials is transfered into the ring die pellet mill by the belt or screw conveyor. The materials get into the pelleting chamber. Under the high pressure between roller and die, the biomass pellets are made with proper size by the knives. The cooling and packaging system is the final steps. The biomass pellets getting out from the ring die pellet mill with high temperature are easy to break, a cooler will cool the pellets in a proper temperature. In order to store and transport, the biomass pellets should be packed by the packaging machine.
